The Tuschar Mountains is a high desert mountain range with several peaks rising above 12,000 feet. The highest being Delano Peak which sits on the border of Beaver and Piute Counties and rises to 12,174 feet.

Geologically, The Tuschars sit on the transition zone from the Great Basin (which stretches toward the Sierra Nevada and the Colorado Plateau.

The mountains themselves were formed through volcanic activity 32-22 million years ago. The geology includes a combination of lava flows, ash flows, and glaciated canyons in the high mountain peaks.

The Tuschar Mountains are administered by Fishlake National Forest which has headquarters in Richfield and district offices in Beaver, Fillmore and Loa.
